Our Douro Valley Wine Retreat is hosted in the heart of Portugal’s UNESCO World Heritage site and a world-renowned destination for wine and gastronomy.
Nestled on top of the valley, we will be staying at a stunning and historic Quinta vineyard estate, celebrated for its commitment to luxury, innovative winemaking, and centuries old winery.

The Douro Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is celebrated as a cultural landscape shaped by over 2,000 years of human activity. Its iconic terraced vineyards, carved into the hillsides along the Douro River, are a testament to tradition, innovation, and resilience in winemaking.
Recognized as the oldest demarcated wine region in the world (established in 1756), the Douro Valley has mastered the art of producing some of the world’s finest wines, including the globally renowned Port wine and high-quality table wines that rival the best vintages.
UNESCO highlights the region as an exceptional example of a traditional wine-producing area that has preserved its unique heritage and ecological balance while adapting to a challenging environment. With its dramatic landscapes, rich traditions, and unparalleled contributions to global wine culture, the Douro Valley stands as a revered destination for connoisseurs and admirers of natural beauty alike.

To get to this exclusive restaurant, you drive through an idyllic landscape of small lanes lined with dry-stone walls and fields belonging to the Baracchi farm estate, leading to its beautiful panoramic and covered terrace overlooking the hills of Cortona in the Tuscan countryside.
The high quality of ingredients, respect of seasonality, and the use of products at km 0 are the guiding principles of all dishes on the menu. Wines, olive oil, and fresh produce are grown organically on property, and the restaurant’s strong connection with its local Tuscan landscapes is evident.
Il Falconiere Restaurant, helmed by Silvia Baracchi, has been award 1* Michelin Star since 2002, making it the longest standing Michelin restaurant in the province.
Silvia’s creativity continues to shine through innovative dishes inspired by classics. All of which our Nomad Home group will taste, and learn to create through our private Michelin cooking class.

The Baracchi Vineyards are located on the hills facing Cortona and the winery overlooks the panorama of the Tuscan countryside.
Riccardo Baracchi, passionate about the place he was born, continued the tradition of his family who have cultivated the vines and produced the wines since 1860, giving it sustainable energy, along with a high quality character. A torch eventually passed down to his son Benedetto.
The family is dedicated to producing wines of the highest quality, having committed to a fully organic and eventual biodynamic production, rooted in deep knowledge of the specificities of the surrounding land and soil.
The Baracchi award-winning wines are a taste of the evolution of an ancient family tradition. Wines we will indulge in through our experience through their rolling vineyard.

Il Falconiere: 1* Michelin Chef for 22 Years
Born in Perugia and raised in the heart of Cortona, Silvia Baracchi comes from a family of restaurateurs and has inherited passion for Italian food and a sensitivity to the traditions.
Her ethos is using exceptional organic and hyperlocal ingredients, coupled with expert cooking methods to showcase the best of Tuscany. The star is the freshness of ingredient, from her own vegetables, wine and olive oil to fresh nearby Chianina cattle and Lake Trasimeno lake fish.
Sylvia’s innovative cuisine has made Il Falconiere the longest standing Michelin Star restaurant in the province, holding the accolade 22 years in a row.
Nomad Home Private Wine Blending Workshop
Our Nomad Home experience start with a Welcome Dinner featuring a tasting menu with Il Falconiere’s most iconic dishes.
The highlight of our experience will feature a Private Culinary Lesson with Chef Silvia Baracchi: a full immersion of Michelin starred techniques for refined Tuscan cuisine.
This intimate cooking class takes place in the Falconiere's dedicated kitchen and the dishes you create will be enjoyed alongside wines produced in the Baracchi cellar.

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Welcome home! After the Florence airport pick-up, we will let you settle into your luxurious room and kick off the night with an aperitif to get to know your new family. You’ll kick off your first night with a multi-course wine paired meal at the 1* Star Michelin restaurant Il Falconiere, and sample the best and most innovative Tuscan dishes.

Day 2: Michelin Cooking Class & Daytrip
Start your day with a delicious resort breakfast and prepare to begin the private Nomad Home cooking class led by Michelin starred Chef, Silvia Baracchi. Immerse yourself in creating dishes using her gardens’ homegrown ingredients and enjoy them paired with Baracchi wines. After your class you’ll exploe the nearby picturesque town of Cortona and have a dinner in a traditional trattoria.

Day 3: Wine Tour & Goodbye Dinner
After a delicious resort breakfast, you’ll be led across the estate of the Baracchi family, through their vineyard as you learn about their history beginning in 1860 and dedication to modern biodynamic winemaking. You’ll end the tour with a tasting of their best wines alongside aperitivo snacks. Spending the afternoon relaxing at the spa pool or taking some free time, we will end the night with a Goodbye Family Dinner at a local Trattoria with a tasting menu, Tuscan wines, and dancing!

Transportation, daily breakfast, all activities and meals in the itinerary, and additional Wifi.
Flights are not included.

For our 8 day retreats, all guests will have free time during the day to work as they please as most activities are in the evening or weekend.
For our 4 day retreats, activities will be throughout the day so there will only be pockets of work time. Of course, you can participate as you prefer and if you have specific schedule accommodations, please email (admin@nomad-home.com)

Yes. Please send us an email and indicate what room you’d like, who you would like to be in the room with, and we will take it into consideration in the selection phase.

The trip pick-up and drop-off will be at the Bordeaux airport, a 2 hour drive from our villa. Transportation is organized from that specific location, if you have a custom request, we will try our best to help coordinate; subject to additional cost.

Yes, the minimum age is 21 years old for all stays.

Please verify the entrance requirements for your respective country. Many countries are able to have a tourist visa issued at no charge upon arrival. When entering the country, we suggest selecting ‘vacation’ on the immigration form and using the villa’s address; provided at the time of booking.

There is a village about a 15 minutes walk away with the daily essentials, grocery, and restaurants. All tours will have transportation included. If you wish to have your own transportation during weekdays, you can rent a car or bike for personal use.

If cancelling a booking within 48 hours of placing your booking you will receive a full refund. Please note, the 24 hour period begins when you place your initial booking.
Cancellation after this period incurs cancellation fees, depending on how far in advance you cancel.
If cancelling within:
90 days of the retreat start date - the 1500€ deposit is non-refundable
Within 60 days of the retreat start date - 50% is non-refundable
45 days of the retreat start date - 100% non-refundable
