MOROCCO: BY CHANCE ROMANCE IN A PRIVATE RIAD

NOMAD HOME BY CHANCE SERIES

NOMAD HOME: BY CHANCE SERIES

Nomad Home is proud to introduce our By Chance romance series, where we curate intimate, design-led retreats for accomplished founders, creatives, and remote leaders to meet, connect, and see what unfolds beyond the apps.

Our By Chance Romance Retreat brings you to a luxury private riad in Marrakech, a hidden sanctuary from the city’s vibrant souks, gardens, and historic palaces, the perfect setting for a 4 day immersion into the sights, sounds, and tastes of Morocco.

Designed for entrepreneurs, creatives, and remote leaders, it blends slow travel with connection: long candlelit dinners, hammam rituals, and a day in the desert, with plenty of space to actually connect.

You’ll share the experience with a carefully selected group, chosen through a detailed intake to ensure alignment in lifestyle and values, creating space for serendipitous encounters that can become collaboration, real friendship, or something more.

MEET SOMEONE SPECIAL IN MOROCCO, BY CHANCE

  • Morocco is a place of deep traditions, where daily life is shaped by family, faith and hospitality. In the medinas, craftsmen still work by hand, from zellige tiles and carved wood to brass lanterns and woven textiles. Afternoon tea is a ritual, with mint tea poured from high above as a sign you are welcome.

Marrakech brings this to life in a very concentrated way. Inside the old city walls, the souks are filled with spice stalls, clay tagines, leather, rugs and baskets, while hidden riads sit quietly behind heavy doors. The call to prayer, the smell of grilled meat and orange blossom, and the rhythm of street musicians all blend into the atmosphere.

Moroccan culture moves between indoors and outdoors with ease. People gather around shared plates, visit the hammam as a weekly reset, and escape to the desert or mountains for fresh air and perspective. It is a culture that values togetherness, good food and taking time, which makes it a natural setting for slow travel and connection.

  • The Wine House Hotel – Quinta da Pacheca is a 5-star wine hotel set in the heart of the Douro Valley, surrounded by terraced vineyards and sweeping river views. Rooted in an 18th-century manor house and expanded with contemporary architecture and its iconic barrel suites, it blends historic charm, design and immersive wine experiences in one of Portugal’s most celebrated wine estates.

A stay here is all about Douro living: waking up among the vines, tasting award-winning wines on site, and enjoying the quiet of a working estate that has become a benchmark for innovative wine tourism.

Quinta da Pacheca has earned its place among the best in hospitality and wine tourism, with accolades such as:

    • 1 MICHELIN Key – The Wine House Hotel – Quinta da Pacheca, in the official MICHELIN hotel selection for Portugal

    • Global Winner, Architecture & Landscape – Best Of Wine Tourism Awards 2020, for its iconic wine barrel suites and design

    • Winner “Wine Hotel” – Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2019

    • Featured in Boa Cama Boa Mesa 2025, one of Portugal’s leading hotel and restaurant guides

  • The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines is an entry-level certification offered by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), one of the most popular and widely recognized wine education organizations in the world, offering qualifications that are highly respected by both wine lovers and professionals across the industry.

WSET’s certifications, including the Level 1, 2, and 3 awards in wines, as well as their spirits programs, are seen as a mark of credibility and expertise.

The Level 1 course focuses on the fundamentals of wine, introducing participants to the basic principles of wine tasting, the different types of wine, and how to identify key characteristics such as taste and aroma. The curriculum also covers food and wine pairing, as well as the basic principles of wine storage and service. This certification is perfect for beginners who want to develop a deeper appreciation for wine in a structured, yet approachable way.

While most participants start with Level 1, those with prior wine knowledge, such as professionals or avid enthusiasts, may be eligible to skip to Level 2, which dives deeper into wine regions, grape varieties, and the production process.

Under the guidance of an accredited WSET instructor who is also the respected Wine Ambassador to Portugal, guests on this exclusive Nomad Home retreat will have the opportunity to earn their WSET Level 1 Award in Wines after a multiple-choice exam, all while immersed in one of the world’s most celebrated wine regions (not only from Douro), with a group of likeminded new friends.

Note: If you are confident in your wine knowledge, there is an option to skip directly to WSET 2, a more intensive 5 day wine course we provide.

  • Charlotte

    CO-FOUNDER of HANDS London

My favourite thing about Nomad Home is being able to connect with a large group of people from all over the world. I usually make friends slowly but when you spend so much time with a group of people, you become extremely close very quickly. That has been rare in my adult life and something I’ll always treasure. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime - we have already planned a few meetups since.

  • Laurie

    FOUNDER of Outsourceful

Running my own business can get lonely and repetitive at times so it was refreshing to be able to travel, cowork, and bounce ideas with a group of founders. Although many of us were from different countries, it was surprising how much we had in common. I’ve been to multiple Nomad Home events now and the London events were a great way to meet people in my home city. There are 4 of us that met that have already set up monthly dinners; we really left as a family.

  • Andrea

PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER and CONTENT CREATOR

I’ve remote worked for 5 years and found that it’s been difficult to find people that love luxury travel and have a flexible lifestyle. Nomad Home has given me a community to grow together personally and professionally with, when I honestly didn’t realize I could make these deep of connections of my adult life. What’s better is I got to do it while wine tasting and dinner partying.

  • Jesse

CO-FOUNDER of BLA Design Group and FOUNDER of Adessa Visuals

I work a lot, which means I don’t have much time to get away, socialize, or plan travel itineraries. Nomad Home has made it easy for me to just show up, enjoy unique activities and dinner parties that are off the beaten path, and connect with interesting people working on cool projects I would have never met otherwise. It was even better that I got to do all of it while getting my work done.
