Nomad Home is ecstatic to introduce our new retreat series, where we partner with iconic castles steeped in history to create bespoke, luxe, and unforgettable experiences.
Our French château was built in the 19th Century and previously owned by the same family for over 150 years.
The beautiful property is set in the heart of the Périgord Vert, France. Périgord is famed for its’s rolling green hills, ancient picturesque villages, and as a gastronomic capital. It famously produces some the highest quality world-renowned ingredients such as Truffles, Foie Gras, and Wines of Bergerac.
Join us in an a bespoke Nomad Home luxury experience, seeped in the history, food, and wine, all while making lifelong connections with a family of entrepreneurs and creatives.
FRANCE: COUNTRYSIDE CHÂTEAU LIVING

Built in the 19th Century and previously owned by the same family for over 150 years, this beautifully restored château is set on 2 acres of enclosed gardens and is the perfect tranquil base to experience the authenticity of the French countryside.
There are no shortage of activities or spaces to relax as the château estate includes a 2 acre garden, private heated saltwater pool, pool house with summer kitchen, rooftop terrace, a theatre room, a football and croquet field, table tennis, and an office space to get some deep work done.
Set in a small village of in Périgord Vert, its location offers a taste of genuine France. There is a 12th century church at the heart of the village, with a small bar and bustling village opposite, stocking local produce, fresh bread and food essentials.

The Périgord region of Aquitaine, generally known simply as ‘The Dordogne’, is a historic region of France.
The region is an authentic view of the French countryside, with historic châteaux, Romanesque churches, and beautiful medieval villages perched atop cliffs overlooking the river below.
Deep in the French countryside, Périgord was one of the main battlegrounds of the Hundred Years' War between the French and English in the 14th and 15th centuries, full of medieval and Renaissance castles, and known today as the “Land of 1001 Castles”.
The château is located in the heart of the Périgord Vert. An area considered the lushest of the Périgord, with rolling naturally beautiful green hills and forested deep valleys. A short 90 minute drive from the famous Bordeaux wine region.
It is also known as a Gourmet Capital of France, with famed restaurants and wineries to visit – after all, this is the centre of truffle, foie gras, and Bergerac production.

Périgord is famous for it’s gourmet cuisine, especially its duck and goose products, such as confit de canard and foie gras, and Périgord black truffles, renowned as the "Black Truffle Capital of the World.”
Dedicated to preserving the culinary mastery of French cuisine and technique, the Périgord region boasts 8 Michelin Starred restaurants.
This is also an incredible wine region that produces some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Bordeaux Blend in the world. Known for it’s Bergerac wines, you will be tasting these next to their more famous cousin, Bordeaux, through your private Nomad Home experience.
HERCULES NOBLE: YOUR CHEF & CULINARY INSTRUCTOR
Private Chef & Sourdough Expert
Born and raised in New Zealand, Hercules Noble is a Private Chef and Sourdough Expert that has honed his skills in wineries and kitchens across France, London, and New York.
With a contagious passion for all things food, and a contagious personality to match, Hercules creates his dishes with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and whole foods. Growing his produce where possible, recipes that are always fresh, creative, balanced, and approachable.
Hercules has a deep love and knowledge of French cuisine, having spent three years as the Chef at the prestigious Château de Pibarnon, which produces some of the finest wines and dining experiences from Provence, France.
Private Dinner Parties & Sourdough Workshop
Our Nomad Home experience include iconic themed dinner parties drawing from the inspiration of the era of which our French Château belongs.
Our experience will also feature a Private Sourdough Workshop with Hercules where he will take us through a full immersion of all the steps to master the art of sourdough, with infusions of modern twists. The lesson takes place in our Château where we can enjoy the creations through our al fresco picnics and sunset dinners.

Welcome home! After we pick you up from the Bordeaux airport, we’ll let you settle in to the château and get ready for a private chef curated dinner party! You’ll kick off your first night with a multi-course French meal and delicious wine, and the chance to bond with your new family.

Day 2: Truffle Hunt & Tasting
Périgord, famous throughout the world for its gastronomy, is especially famous it’s truffles, which are considered some of the finest in the world. The Périgord black truffle is known to gastronomes as the “black diamond” and is one of the most fragrant of all truffles. This region practices the art of “truffle hunting” where trained dogs sniff out these elusive treasures hidden beneath the earth. We will be guided by a truffle expert on a hunt and indulge in a lunch featuring truffle dishes after your hard work.

Day 3: Thiviers Evening Visit (Optional Free Day)
Balance is key. Take this free day to explore, relax, or stay in for self-care, at your own pace. If you are in the mood for exploring, we will be visiting the small town of Thiviers, located in France's Périgord Vert region, enchants with its medieval charm and rich culinary scene.

Day 4: Wine Tasting (Bordeaux vs. Bergerac)
Prepare for a Private Wine Tasting in the comfort of our château. Our wine expert Simon will bring you through the history and nuances between the famous Bordeaux and it’s nearby cousin Bergerac, where you will get to savor the wines yourself and decide whether Bordeaux deserves its more famous reputation. These wines are close in style as they are only 100km apart, with passionate fans for both. After the tasting, we will graze on a family style aperitivo by our Private Chef and enjoy the remainder of the wines.

Day 5: Sourdough Workshop
You will be guided along a hands on workshop by our Private Chef Hercules and to learn the secrets to perfecting Sourdough bread. Learning the classic techniques in feeding the starter, treating the dough, and taking creative liberty by infusing the traditional base with modern innovative infusions. We will enjoy all our hard work with our al fresco picnics and dinner parties.

Day 6: Brantôme Michelin Star Dinner
Brantôme, one of the most impressive villages of Perigord (considered to be the Venice of Perigord), has postcard scenery that is breath-taking. The Abbey Mill is alongside the river and offers an impressive panoramic view of Brantôme as well as the Abbey that was founded in 769AD by Charlemagne. After exploring the idyllic town, we will indulge in the local gastronomy from Perigord at the iconic 1 Michelin Star Le Moulin de L’abbaye.

Transportation, daily breakfast, all activities and meals in the itinerary, and additional Wifi.
Flights are not included.

For our 8 day retreats, all guests will have free time during the day to work as they please as most activities are in the evening or weekend.
For our 4 day retreats, activities will be throughout the day so there will only be pockets of work time. Of course, you can participate as you prefer and if you have specific schedule accommodations, please email (admin@nomad-home.com)

Yes. Please send us an email and indicate what room you’d like, who you would like to be in the room with, and we will take it into consideration in the selection phase.

The trip pick-up and drop-off will be at the Bordeaux airport, a 2 hour drive from our villa. Transportation is organized from that specific location, if you have a custom request, we will try our best to help coordinate; subject to additional cost.

Yes, the minimum age is 21 years old for all stays.

Please verify the entrance requirements for your respective country. Many countries are able to have a tourist visa issued at no charge upon arrival. When entering the country, we suggest selecting ‘vacation’ on the immigration form and using the villa’s address; provided at the time of booking.

There is a village about a 15 minutes walk away with the daily essentials, grocery, and restaurants. All tours will have transportation included. If you wish to have your own transportation during weekdays, you can rent a car or bike for personal use.

If cancelling a booking within 48 hours of placing your booking you will receive a full refund. Please note, the 24 hour period begins when you place your initial booking.
Cancellation after this period incurs cancellation fees, depending on how far in advance you cancel.
If cancelling within:
90 days of the retreat start date - the 1500€ deposit is non-refundable
Within 60 days of the retreat start date - 50% is non-refundable
45 days of the retreat start date - 100% non-refundable
