Our Portugal Michelin Retreat is located at the iconic 5 Star Relais & Châteaux Resort Fortaleza do Guincho, the 17th century fortress turned hotel, with the Michelin Starred restaurant led by Chef Gil Fernandes.
The elegant panoramic resort is perched on the gorgeous coast with views of the ocean and of Cabo da Rocha, the most westerly point on mainland Europe. The unique location provides the old-world charm of Portugal while the cuisine celebrates the abundant seafood of the area.

Born in the Portuguese fishing villa, Ribamar, Chef Gil Fernandes developed his culinary passion early, inspired by his family's connection to the land and sea.
His ethos combines traditional Portuguese ingredients, especially fresh seafood, with modern techniques and aesthetics. After honing his skills in multiple prestigious 2 and 3 starred Michelin-starred kitchens, Gil became the Executive Head Chef at 1 Star Fortaleza do Guincho* at the young age of 28.
There, he is modernizing haute cuisine and earning international recognition for his innovative yet rooted approach to food.

Day 1: Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Welcome home! After the Lisbon airport pick-up, we will let you settle into your luxurious room before officially meeting your new family.
We will begin the retreat with a multi-course wine paired meal at the 1* Star Michelin restaurant Fortaleza do Guincho and sample beautiful seafood that pays homage to the coast of Portugal.
Wine will flow into the evening for whoever wants to keep the party going!

Day 2: Wine Tour & Cascais Visit
After a delicious resort breakfast, you’ll be led across the estate of an iconic 18th century winery. You’ll end the tour with a tasting of their best wines alongside a winery lunch.
Spend the afternoon relaxing at the beach next to the resort or taking some free time before we head out to explore the nearby picturesque town of Cascais and have our last dinner in a gorgeous and iconic restaurant.

Day 3: Michelin Cooking Class & Goodbye Dinner

Transportation, daily breakfast, all activities and meals in the itinerary, and additional Wifi.
Flights are not included.

For our 8 day retreats, all guests will have free time during the day to work as they please as most activities are in the evening or weekend.
For our 4 day retreats, activities will be throughout the day so there will only be pockets of work time. Of course, you can participate as you prefer and if you have specific schedule accommodations, please email (admin@nomad-home.com)

The trip pick-up and drop-off will be at the Bordeaux airport, a 2 hour drive from our villa. Transportation is organized from that specific location, if you have a custom request, we will try our best to help coordinate; subject to additional cost.

Yes, the minimum age is 21 years old for all stays.

Please verify the entrance requirements for your respective country. Many countries are able to have a tourist visa issued at no charge upon arrival. When entering the country, we suggest selecting ‘vacation’ on the immigration form and using the villa’s address; provided at the time of booking.

There is a village about a 15 minutes walk away with the daily essentials, grocery, and restaurants. All tours will have transportation included. If you wish to have your own transportation during weekdays, you can rent a car or bike for personal use.

If cancelling a booking within 48 hours of placing your booking you will receive a full refund. Please note, the 24 hour period begins when you place your initial booking.
Cancellation after this period incurs cancellation fees, depending on how far in advance you cancel.
If cancelling within:
90 days of the retreat start date - the 1500€ deposit is non-refundable
Within 60 days of the retreat start date - 50% is non-refundable
45 days of the retreat start date - 100% non-refundable
